GoaFest 2011 extended to five days; Festival adds new attractions

GoaFest promises to be bigger and better this year. As reported by exchange4media earlier, the Festival Chair this year is Lynn de Souza, Chairman and CEO, Lintas Media Group.

In a Mumbai press address, the GoaFest team has informed that the event has been extended to five days. It will take place at the Zuri White Sands resort in Varca, South Goa, from April 5, 2011 to April 9, 2o11. The theme of the event is ‘Ideas are all around you, can you SPOT one?’

April 5, 2011 and April 6, 2011 are planned as special ‘hands-on’ event for young creatives in association with Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) to foster creativity with a conscience.

The Industry Conclave is planned for April 7, 2011 and the theme this year is ‘Preparing the Profession for the New Decade’. R K Swamy Group’s Sundar Swamy leads the Conclave this year.

As is known, the Abby Awards is headed by a joint AAAI and Ad Club Mumbai Council called the Awards Governing Council, chaired by Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar UM.

Media Abby would be held on the April 8, 2011 and Creative Abby awards on the April 9, 2011. The Festival of Media, Montreux, will host two of its categories – ‘Best Communication Strategy’ and ‘Best Contribution to a Campaign’ by a media owner at GoaFest. The winners and runners-up of these two additional categories get a fast-track into the Montreux Finals. FOM will be represented on the jury and give away the awards function.
